"Taffy Apple"

Oil on Board. Approx 6"x8" SOLD

This is the first time I've painted a taffy apple. My favorite part is the reflective nature of the caramel. The color almost goes to a deep purple in the shadow on the caramel. Truly a fun one to paint.

That looks good enough to eat--I just want to know if you ate the caramel apple after doing the painting.

I've been following your work for a while and really love it. This apple is wonderful. The paper is so important, I think the contrast between the shiny taffy and the paper really makes an interesting piece.
Great work!

I, too, love your work. And with apologies have tagged you. At the same time, I'm letting you off the hook--that's to say, don't feel compelled to play, though if you decide to, the scoop is on my blog.

Fab, makes me want to be home in England, Nov., Guy Fawkes etc., is the time for toffee apples at home.

I believe that this is one of the most beautiful taffy apple paintings I have ever seen! Those little shoes you painted were just magnificent!
