"Calalily"

Oil on Board. Approx 6"x6" SOLD

I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw a group of beautiful Calalilies. I had to buy them. I've said this before, I'm not much of a floral painter, but I wanted to capture the luminosity of this flower. Not too bad I think.

Just beautiful, I think "not to bad" is an understatement.

I have been watching your blog and admiring your work for awhile...They are all so good with such clean color and wonderful brushwork. I had to comment (finally) and let you know how great your work is. I added you to my list of blogs to visit. Also, I have just tagged you if you want to play come to my blog and see how its done. If you pass on that part it's okay too!

Lovely, moody, lush!

Mike - I really love this, but I am partial to single flowers. I love the softness you gave this painting; it really conducts emotion. claudia

I have recently come to your blog from another one and really enjoy your work, Michael.
This one in particular is lovingly rendered and reminds me of Manet's last flowers somehow. The mood is somewhat melancholy. Thanks for sharing and keep it going!
