Oil on 3/8" Board. Approx 8"x8" SOLD
Here is the second painting that was a gift for another friend in L.A. a week and a half ago. I was nervous going into this painting. I knew it was no simple task. The hot dog was going to be a challenge but the paper was going to make or break the whole piece. I think this is my all-time favorite painting. It's something different from my usual work and, for me, was a complete success.

Michael ... your work is always amazing. You got the juiciness of the tomatoes and the softness of the bread ... With the exception of those jalepenos.. I'd bite right into it !!
WONDERFUL!!
Yep brilliant work Mike. And there is that brushwork which I want to emulate. r.
Astounding. I ate this hot dog today, but didn't see the beauty in it that you showed.
This is a great painting. I can imagine a very large version, on a cafe wall.
Really, this is an amazing piece. I don't even like hot dogs, but this makes me want one!
Awesomely amazing work! Sucess is the understatement here! I love this!
Really great piece...you captured the translucent nature of those tomatoes...fabulous!
The hot dog is fabulous. It is very eye catching...and would love to have that painting!!! Actually, it makes me want to go to the ball park and get a dog. But, yours looks so delicious with the palette you used. Love it!

Nice Job! I really like this one, and the paper looks/works well within the painting.
fantastic! keeping taking those chances. The results for you are excellent
Yummy! I love this expressive painting. You have really captured this subject. I can almost smell it and now, I'm going to have to head to the kitchen to get something to eat. I am holding you responsible for any weight I gain.
I'm not a big hot dog fan, don't like onions, jalapenos, relish, or just about any condiment....but I'm ready to take a bite. This painting is wonderfully done!
Your hot dog ROCKS! Maybe being nervous is a good thing?
Everything, and I do mean EVERYTHING about this painting rules!
The "wet" look of the tomatoes, the highlights on the peppers, the softness of the bun, the crinkled paper......this is complete perfection, Mike!
Just a fantastic job from you!
This might be one of your strongest paintings you've posted for 2009.
Awesome, awesome, awesome!!
Be proud of this one!
