"Sunlit Church"

Oil on 1/8" Gessoboard. Approx 6"x6" SOLD

Gatlinburg, TN is filled with spirituality. Churches and Jesus references everywhere. What attracted me to this scene was how the sun seemed to peak through the clouds at the perfect moment. Almost like it was shining only on this church. I took a snap shot while in a moving vehicle.

wow I just absoultely love this! The grassy area in front is such a good contrast to the distance in the trees in the back, and the church is rendered so loosely but pefectly, the architecture of the structure is perfectly composed. How did you get such a good shot from a moving vehicle? Love the subject, I am partial to things Christian--and love little country church paintings!
