"The Proposal"

Oil on 3/8" Gesso Board. Approx 6"x6" SOLD

This is a custom commission for a couple who is about to be engaged. The baseball player and his soon to be bride. I must say the ring is a beauty. I felt a little paranoid having it in my possession.

What if Julie says no? LOL, just teasing!

This little painting is really done quite well.

The baseball is dingy and weathered while the ring box is slick and new. Good job with that.

The diamonds on the ring appear to glow. Great job with that.

Best wishes to the happy couple!

How creative an idea is that!!! I think this couple is off to a great start when he considers her artistic tastes even in his proposal! Beautiful painting, Michael - what an honor for you to be the chosen artist. :-)

MY brother and future SISTER-IN-LAW will love this! I am tearing up out of excitement! I've seen both the ring (and maybe tried it on!!!) and the ball and this painting is perfect. It fits both of their personalities which blend so well together!!!

Michael, this is a great idea for the couple, and the ring really looks like it's glowing. I love all your work because your brushwork and colors are luscious. No matter what the subject is, you paint life into it.
