Here are the second challenge paintings. The subject was eggplant...any way you like it. I went more traditional as usual but it was my first time paint this subject.

What a beauty. Such a sense of clean white light. Your ability to see colors and put them down simply and honestly is just wonderful.

Nice job! Great choice of background color. I love the reflected light on the bottom and the high light by the stem. Really gives the plant dimension.

Isn't it fun how everyone puts their own spin on those challenges??

I agree with Nathan Edward Meyer.

I love the highlight where the stem meets the eggplant.

My eye just naturally goes to that point.

Your eggplant painting led me to your site, and glad it did! Wonderful work, I spent a good while checking out everything and really impressed with your fruit and jelly depictions. Take care and I'll keep checking in.
