"Baby Janes"

Oil on Board. Approx 6"x6" Commission SOLD

I received this commission based on my other Mary Janes painting. These shoes were actually shipped to me to be specifically used. That made it personal for the collector. Also, I have another Mary Janes painting coming up. It's kind of the opposite of the first 2.

I love your paintings, and these shoes, and the previous pair are just absolutely adorable! Love how the red inside and the greenish background compliment each other. Can't wait to see the next one :)

Wonderful job on these cuties. I esp. like your composition with the two shoes... always a challenge. You paint lovely painterly brushstrokes but capture detail too; amazing.

These shoes turned out fantastic!

The fact that this was a commissioned piece and that the owner actually sent you the shoes make it that much more special.

Such a simple composition and yet so powerful and eye catching.

The shiny blacks look awesome. You nailed it. The red interiors stand out against the dull greens.

And you cleverly kept the background interesting by having the shoes cast interesting shadows. Nice touch!

Keep it up, Mike!
