Bird On A Wire

Oil on 1/8" Gessoboard. Approx 6"x6" SOLD

This darn utility pole again. I love it tough. I could walk out into my backyard any day of the week and see this in a new way each time. This time I caught a bird perfectly perched on the wire.

The multi-directional lines and corresponding brush strokes makes a static element come beautifully alive.

The geometric lines created by the intersecting wires are so interesting. I love the brushwork in the clouds and the way they obscure the wires here and there. Very cool!

fantastic painting. The other day I listen to an BBC interview with the great british painter Frank Auerbach, he is already since 40 years doing a drawing of the same chimney in Camden Town London, every day..... so you are not alone

Nice. The bird posed in a perfect spot in the composition.
