On The Edge

Oil on 1/8" Gessoboard. Approx 6"x6"

For purchase info, please email michael@mnaples.com

I love how the cast shadow from the mug hangs over the edge of the mantle. Also I very much like the "log cabin" feel in this composition. On a side note, I am scrambling to finish things I have in the works because in about two weeks our second baby will be born. I can't wait. Time has been dragging and flying by all at the same time. Do you know what I mean...?

This issue with time will go away as soon as you start losing sleep with new bambino! You'll forget all about us...

Congrats on the baby. We just had our first and I know exactly what you mean about time simultaneously standing still and flying by. What year is this?!

Love this piece - but please tell me what the blue under the table is.
I can't figure it out!

Congrats on the new little one to come.

Thanks for the comments everyone. Vicki M. It is actually a mantle and the blue/purple under is the natural rock on the front of it.

Great paintings. I really like your utility pole ones. Good luck with the new baby.

I love the shadow on the horizontal surface. It's perfect, and for me what this composition is about. Best wishes to you both.

Gorgeous colours. I know they say "Value does all the work, colour gets all the credit", but I guess I am completely tricked despite knowing that. It is the colour I love in this painting. Best wishes with the coming addition to the family.

Thanks for all the wishes everyone. Lola was born last Thursday, 9/3. She was 2 weeks early so it was a bit of a surprise but everyone is doing great.
