Reflecting

Oil on 1/8" Gessoboard. Approx 6"x6" SOLD

A little different take on the same strawberry. I have never painted a strawberry in such detail before these. They are crazy little things. All those seeds, highlights and reflecting light. It is a plethora of value and color transitions.

I've been inspired to paint a strawberry with a knife after seeing this. Great subject!

Another Naples Classic!

This turned out SO well, Mike!

I love the reflection on the knife and the strawberry itself is lusciously red and detailed. Amazing job on that!

I love the how you broke up the space with bands of black (background), then cream (cloth), then black again in the knife. Very smart composition.

Deceptively simple but when you look closely you realize it's really, really complicated!

Wow!

how did you make the knife look so real and shiny like a mirror... I am tempted to try and see my own reflection!
