Fontijne Grotnes

Oil on Canvas. Approx 24"x36" SOLD

This is the commission that took two weeks to complete. Yikes. It was all worth it, though. It was a great challenge for many reasons. The size, the figures. I was just not in my element so the process was a bit slower. Now I'm working on a larger painting of a group of pears that I feel a lot more comfortable with. I was hoping to finish that one this week but it will definitely go into next week.

This is excellent Michael! I'm amazed how easily you've put down the still lifes and painted this group portrait. Awesome, well done!

This turned out really well, Mike!

But you've done portraits of people in the past before, right? So how was this not in your element?

A nice change of subject matter from you!
