Oil on 1/8" Board. Approx 6"x6" SOLD
Here is this month's challenge painting. The challenge was to use an apple, a spoon and glass. The really hard part for me was coming up with an interesting composition. For me this would make it or break it. This is the one I settled on.
oooOO love this! Love the detail on the spoon and the compo is really unique!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely LOVE your work. Beautiful. The compositions are fantastic and give me ideas for photography experiments. So glad I came across your blog!
ReplyDeleteAnother gorgeous and powerful painting, Michael! The strong abstract design, amazing perspective and wonderfully subtle colors make for a dramatic painting that looks 10 times the size it actually measures. I love it!
ReplyDeleteOh wow...and what a composition you came up with at that!! It is marvelous! Your work is stunning!
ReplyDeleteMy hat's off to you for your ingenious design, Michael: the two matching circles in opposite corners tied together with the spoon... the spoon bridge!
ReplyDeleteIt's whiimsical and beautiful. I really like the way the solid rich red apple plays against the hollow clear cylinder of the glass. There is a lot of tension even though they are at rest. And that spoon... I can just hear the metal clink against the glass!
Love our composition and simplicity. Been following your work for a while through Daily Paintworks. Was wondering if I could be part of the monthly challenge? Or is it a closed group?
ReplyDeleteMike!
ReplyDeleteThe unique composition and the bird's-eye-view is what makes this painting a winner!

ReplyDeleteI love your brush strokes, and colour combinations! Inspiring. I haven't done an official painting in a while, and I think you might have just sparked a little something in me. Thank you for sharing your beautiful works of "heart".
