Oil on Board. Approx 6"x6" SOLD
We all post about those paintings that just flow off the brush. Well this is mine. I felt like every stroke I put down was a keeper. A few highlights in the right spots and it was done. I really like how the cast shadow was the color of the bottle. Interesting.

You really have a great one with this painting. I can see how every brush stroke was a "keeper" as they are all perfect! I love the green and you highlights on the wine bottle are wonderful.
The whole painting's a keeper--nice work!
Love the wall - great textures going on there
The painting is so simple. but it is beautiful! I love how your brushstrokes reveal the surfaces of the cork and glass.
This is lovely. You've handled the negative space beautifully and your brushwork, especially in the cork, is masterful.
cheers,
Linda
Damn, my paintings NEVER "just flow off the brush"! Must be doing it wrong then.
This one is awesome for a few reasons.
Green is my most favorite color!
The green cast shadow! (see sentence directly above)
I love how the bottle's lip is super tight and focused while other parts (the cork and lower bottom of the bottle) are still a bit unfocused.
This a really neat effect because my eye goes right to the detailed part which is where the highlight happens to be.
Mike, you are just clever!

Good work!

I just wanted to say how beautiful your art pieces are. I went through all of your past art blogs and was blown away by the simplicity and reality of each piece. I think how you communicate with the world is truly a wonderful gift and I look forward to seeing more from you. Great work.
