Oooo! I really like this! I especially like how you got that texture down in the inside of the cap. You know, that thin, almost rubbery bit that coats the inside of the cap to seal it off?
Awesome!
I like the lighting too... and that wee hint of a reflection on the red.
I never thought a bottle cap could make such a pleasing painting.
OK Michael, this is just amazing. Those of us who struggle with what to paint will find inspiration in this. A simple bottle cap can be beautiful! Great job.
I am so amazed that you can take something so simple and turn it in to an incredible painting. Your detail is fantastic and as always, colors are magnificient! So ... how's that commission coming?

too good!
Who would have thought a bottle cap could be so inspiring? Cheers to you!
Yup...and we have another challenge due March 14
It's kind of sweet. I want to befriend this passionate little bottle cap.
Wow!
This one reminds me of the "Mary Janes" you had done mainly because they all have such a simple composition but are so visually interesting.
I love that such a mundane object, literally something that would end up as trash, was used as the main subject for this work of art.
I mean it's a bottle cap for goodness sakes!!
The cap is very well executed. Its pointy/sharp tips balance out nicely against the smooth brushstrokes used in the reddish-brown backdrop.
And the bottle cap's shadow helps add a dramatic feel and makes the main subject pop.
Just really unique!
Another great painting to be proud of, Mike!

Nearly ZEN!
Brilliant! And to think that I sometimes feel I've run out of things to paint--clearly I just need to have another beer.
