"PB and J No.11"

Oil on 2" thick cradled hardboard. Approx 12"x12" SOLD

This painting is not huge but it's significantly bigger then my usual Daily Paintings. It's painted on a 2" thick cradled hardboard with the edges painted black. This way it is ready to hang without framing. Much more convenient then spending the extra $ on a frame. I will get a few small paintings posted soon and plan on completing another large piece this month.

I had signed up for your blog to be sent to my email when it came out so this was a special treat this morning! (no pun)

The first commenter mentioned that it is so realistic and I agree... What makes it so realistic....? Attention to values?.. pushing darks and lights... or is it great drawing?... or is it tiny brushes and attention to detail?
I know it's really all of that and more but what do you think is the MAIN thing?
Your work is stunning and I am glad to have stumbled on to your blog a few weeks back!

I've just added your blog to mi list of favs. I'm also a painter and although I'm not a particular fan of still life I believe your paintwork is really good. This one is my favorite and the one with the egg yolk. Good work with the brush strokes!!!

Congrats...
