For me to be attracted to a painting, it is not so much about the subject matter and much more about the paint handling. This is a perfect example of that. These objects don't necessarily go together but I love how the painting came out. Therefore, I am attracted to it.

Your work is quite remarkable Michael. I'm interested to know if you are using the 'Dead Layer' technique? I've heard a lot about it and have thought of trying it my self :0)

Thanks everyone! Sandra, No I don't I go right into each painting with local color and try to get the values and hues as close to accurate as I can. It's a very direct approach.

I don't know...I think a dark glass of ale goes with pretty much everything.
