Marmalade

Oil on 1/8" Board. Approx 6"x6" SOLD

This is one of 5 paintings I did back in August. They were commissioned by a design company called Molu Dsgn Ltd. in Turkey and are used in a 2010 calendar for the company called Söke (which is one of their clients). I've sold plenty of paintings over seas but this was the first time I had to communicate ideas back and forth for this many custom paintings. I will say that it was a great experience, though. Mr. Molu is a professional businessman and has a clear idea in his head of what he wants. That's always a plus. I will post the other paintings sporadically in the near future.

Did you get a copy of the calendar? You should post a photo of that here too.

Fantastic job on this, Mike!

The thing I love the best is that you retained the original illustration on the packaging in its own style rather than making it painterly like the rest of the painting.

Does that makes sense?

How did the company find you if they're located overseas? Or did you find them?

Just wondering!

I can't believe you were able to paint in so much detail in a small format - in oils! Amazing and well done!
