Bottle Tops

Oil on 1/4" Board. Approx 5.25"x9" SOLD

I took this photo at my parents house a couple weekends ago. After the block-in stage of the painting, I stepped back and accessed the painting and decided that I needed to really tighten up the bottles or the painting just wasn't going to make it. I'm glad I put the extra time into this one because I really like the outcome.

Nice painting. Like the brushwork in the background, nice compliment to the quieter brushwork in the bottles.

I really like this painting. It is a great composition and also, is very painterly. I always enjoy visiting your blog and seeing your current work.

Hi Michael;

Love your paintings. I look forward to them each day. Quick question: how do you photograph them? The photos always look so vibrant. Thanks; Keep up the good work'

So do I!

Your paintings inspire my photography, in that I find myself thinking about the compositions you've used when I'm framing something up in camera. Thank you!

Very elegant looking, Mike!

I'm intrigued by the blocky background too! It's a nice contrast from the curvy bottles.
