"Sunlit"

Oil on Board. Approx 10"x4" SOLD

I've said in the past that I'm not much of a floral painter but I think this painting could be my all time favorites. It was one of the quickest too, which is always a good thing.

The light, the brushwork, fabulous! And quite a change from what you've been doing.

I love it. I just came across your blog and my jaw droped to my desk!
You coukd hear a bang from the other side of the neighborhood.
I like the flower because it stands out from all the others. I would love you to do some type of scenary, like a board walk of ferris wheel. I'm sure it would stand out even more!

Your art work is better as compare to other artist work, your work have its own unique qualities .

Beautiful rendering, almost as if the flower was born from a series of flowing brush strokes rather than meticulous consideration. The combination of colors, light and contrasts, without forgetting the great angle makes this one a real winner. Happy New Year to you and your family. Have a great 2009 Mike!

Excellent floral!

Just a single bloom and yet so much is going on.

The background is crazy colorful with all the yellow-greens, greens, and blue-greens (crazy in a good way!). Love the random, wild brushstrokes used for the background too.

And as others have mentioned the contrast between light and dark is really well done here.

I'm not a fan of the color pink but I just love this one.

Would love to see you do more floral still lifes in the future.
