Custom Commission

Oil on 1/4" Board. Approx 12.5"x14.5"

It's been a while since my last post and this painting is part of the reason. The rest of the reason is I'm building a fence around my yard and getting things ready for the baby that will be arriving in a WEEK!! Yikes, that's quick. Anyway this is a custom commission from a collector in Oregon. She requested specific items right down to the brand of crackers. This was challenging but the most fun I've had doing a painting in a while. My favorite part is how the light starts to shine through the point of the wedge of cheese. Anyway, I have a few more paintings in the works including a piece for gallery submission.

This is wonderful! I'm so used to seeing your smaller works so this was a great surprise. I like the cheese as well but I must say you did a great job with the glass, bottle and capturing the reflection of the pear in the knife.

I don't know why but the first thing that struck me was the gold paper on the bottle...It's wonderful!

Michael, I'm entering this comment late enough to wonder if you are at the hospital now! Best wishes and congratulations. This painting is superbly done.
Very interesting crackers, and convincing handling of those as well!

I have been enjoying your paintings overall very much.

The thing that struck me first was also the warm glow of the light coming through the cheese. Perfectly done...not to mention the bottle, grapes and all the other elements positioned perfectly. Beautiful painting!
