Another new piece for Susan Powell Fine Art. This was a tough painting to photograph. The bottle in the background was my great-grandfather's and the license plate came from my Dad. It is a composite material since it was during the time of conserving metal for the war. As for the wooden shoe mold, I bought it from the resale shop I patron and instantly fell in love with the shape. Carved out of one piece of wood. The Vivid Unwrap

This is one of my newest pieces for Susan Powell Fine Art. I am completely satisfied with how this painting turned out. The if you look closely at the original, there are a decent amount of broken brush strokes. it's tight but not ever detail is shown...only implied. For me to be attracted to a painting, it is not so much about the subject matter and much more about the paint handling. This is a perfect example of that. These objects don't necessarily go together but I love how the painting came out. Therefore, I am attracted to it.

Portrait of Henry

This is a commission. I was given specific personal items that represent the person (Henry). I love doing pieces like this. When his family and friends look at this painting they know it's him because they know these are his things. I'm not usually one for whisky but painting this made my mouth water.

I found this baseball while raising the canopy of my evergreen tree. Tree is huge and old so there is no way of telling how old this ball is. All I know is it was dirty and I was compelled to try to capture that grit.
